Aegean Speed Lines was founded in 2005, with the cooperation of the Eugenides Group of Companies and the British Group of Companies “Sea Containers”. In 2006, Aegean Speed Lines changed its shareholders synthesis following the divestment of the British Group of Companies and the entrance of a significant Greek Group of Companies. Aegean Speed Lines serves a part of the Cyclades, by connecting the port of Piraeus with Kimolos, Milos, Serifos, Sikinos, Sifnos and Folegandros.
The fleet of the company includes 2 vessels, which are equipped with internet hot spot wi fi and are friendly to disabled people. Each vessel serves circa 800 passengers and 160 cars. In 2009, Aegean Speed Lines was granted the honours by Lloyd's List, characterized as "The best shipping company of the year, for its commitment and dedication to providing high quality services’’.
