Minoan Lines, one of the oldest shipping companies, were founded in 1972 in Heraklion Crete. In July 1974 began the first domestic route in Greece and in 1981 in Italy. In 2008 Minoan Lines became a member of the Italian Grimaldi group. The company manages a fleet of 8 vessels, which are deployed on the route Heraklion – Piraeus – Heraklion, as well as the lines Patras - Igoumenitsa - Ancona and Patras - Igoumenitsa - Ancona - Trieste.
Minoan Lines are certified according to ISM (International Safety Management) standards, issued by the Directorate General for Merchant Ships Inspection (Y.E.N.) and is also certified with ISO 9001 Certification by RINA. Furthermore, Cruise Europa, one of the company’s vessels, was awarded by Euro Test among the three top ships with the highest security standards in Europe.
