KARAPANAGIOTIS I. KONSTANTINOS

The mastologist surgeon KARAPANAGIOTIS I KONSTANTINOS was born, lives and practices surgery in Thessaloniki. After having received his medical degree and his specialty at the 2nd Propaedeutic - Surgery Clinic of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, as a general surgeon, he turned to the complete specialization in breast diseases at the East Birmingham Hospital (England) and the Milan Cancer Institute, for two years.

After this, he was specialized in breast endoscopy in Los Angeles (2007). He founded the Breast Unit at the 2nd Hospital of the Social Security Fund (IKA) in Thessaloniki and, for 20 years, he worked as its head, until 2009. From 1989 until today, he practiced at the same time medicine in private and since 2007, he chose to practice surgery at the Interbalkan Medical Center and other clinics, in consultation with the patient.

Since 2003, he was the first who applied in Greece the method of flushing of breast milk ducts (Ductal Lavage/Ductoscopy), for the early detection of breast diseases. Since 2000, he applies the parallel use of breast ultrasounds and directed biopsy.
