DOUFEXI VETTA

The dentist - periodontist DOUFEXI VETTA SP operates her medical office in Thessaloniki. She was admitted in 1991, being the first in rank of the respective successful examinations, to the School of Dentistry of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and graduated in 1996 with Honors, being first in rank.

In 1998 she completed the informal postgraduate training program in periodontology and implant biology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

From 2001 to 2008, she specialized in the program of training in periodontology and implantology of the University of Connecticut, USA, and, at the same time, she completed her doctoral thesis in the department of oral biology and craniofacial development of the same institution. In 2007 she was awarded the 'Woman of the Year Award' from the 'American Biographical Institute'.

She holds a certification from the 'American Board of Periodontology', since 2009. She has published many articles in Greek and international journals and made many announcements in Greek and international congresses.

Since 2008, she operates a private periodontology and implantology medical office in Thessaloniki and, at the same time, she is a scientific fellow at the department of periodontology and implant biology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

In 2015 she received a subsidy for postdoctoral research by the Kolouridis Foundation and Procter & Gamble, having as subject: 'Research of the role of the transcription factor of Prx2, Tenascin-C and TGF- β in the ability of the gums to heal without scars, after soft tissue transplants'.

In 2017 she received an award by the Midwest Society of Periodontology for her research 'Effect of interleukin-4 polymorphism and severity of periodontal disease on treatment outcome. Chatzopoulos G., Doufexi A.E, Kouvatsi'.

Since 2018 she teaches at the department of periodontology and implant biology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki as a holder of an academic scholarship.
