The ophthalmologist (oculist) SCHOINAS MICHAIL operates his medical practice at the center of Thessaloniki.

With new laser and state-of-the-art intraocular lenses, we treat high myopia and astigmatism. With the intralase femtosecond laser, the cornea is separated without the use of a blade. It has a precision of more than ten times compared to the keratome and allows the safe chipping at greater depth, correcting thus high myopia. In cases of very high myopia, where even the intralase laser cannot be used, permanent intraocular lenses are placed.

An intraocular lens is also placed after the removal of the natural lens, either due to cataract or for the correction of refractive anomalies and, lately, for the correction of astigmatism and presbyopia.
