CAMPION SCHOOL

Campion School is a private school situated in Pallini. The school offers an individualised British programme of studies culminating in the Cambridge IGCSE programme, followed by the IB Diploma. There are separate Junior and Senior schools, and these schools are run independently. The school has a state-of-the-art football field, athletics track, long jump facilities, changing rooms, tennis courts and basketball courts.

The majority of Campion's highly qualified teaching staff holds degrees from UK universities, a smaller number are graduates of Commonwealth and US universities, and almost all language teachers are graduates of the country where the language is spoken. Ongoing in-service training and attendance at conferences ensure that teachers are kept abreast of the curriculum and other educational developments. In the Junior School, children spend a large part of their day in a small group with their Class Teacher who is well aware of any problems or difficulties.

In Senior School, where children go to many different teachers for their lessons, the children are organised into small forms with a Form Teacher. In addition, the Lower School (Years 7, 8 and 9), Middle School (Years 10 and 11) and Upper School (Years 12 and 13) have their own Year Teachers who ensure that any problem a child may face, whether academic or social, is identified and dealt with quickly. Each student belongs to a “House” which is their base for athletics and other competitions. Each House is named after a mythological Greek hero.

Parents are fully informed of their children's progress. Full written reports are sent home twice a year, and High School report cards are issued in October, February and April. Parents' Evenings are also held twice a year to give parents the opportunity to speak in depth with all of their child's teachers. The school also has a parent support group which is very active in organising activities, events and fundraising.
