The founder of the company is Ioannis Karavetis, who was a fisherman, out of necessity, but also out of his passion for nets. The company was founded in 1978, as a sole proprietorship. In 1985, the company was converted into a general partnership with three partners. The offices and warehouses of the company are located at Fanari, in the Prefecture of Rhodope, where the company was also founded. It is a family business, which still operates as such until today. P. KARAVETIS & Co. General Partnership mainly cooperates with fishermen or traders of fishing equipment in Greece. It has now also developed to a small extent in the Black Sea, and in particular in Bulgaria.

The company, through 46 years of experience in the field of fishing gear, mainly cooperating with fishermen, but also with colleagues, has reached a high position, having reached 2,000 customers, companies and professional fishermen. It is undoubtedly one of the major firms in the fishing industry and its aim is to strengthen its position in this sector, but also in other sectors, such as tourism for example.
