PANAGIOTOPOULOS IOANNIS

The vascular surgeon PANAGIOTOPOULOS IOANNIS was born in Drama and attended Anatolia American College on a scholarship. He studied at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki on a scholarship and received the specialty of general & vascular surgery, after completing his training at the 1st Surgery Clinic of the University of Athens.

In 1992 he started practicing vascular surgery in Great Britain at Guy's Hospital of London. In 1996 he was named consultant of the Vascular Surgery Unit of Broomfield Hospital where he served until 2016.

His research is considerable, with more than 400 articles and has written (or participated in the writing of) 6 medical books. He has a vast surgical experience, with more than 1,200 carotid endarterectomy procedures and has treated more than 1,000 aortic aneurysms, with excellent results (UK Vascular Database, Award for results beyond excellence).

Since 2017 he practices vascular surgery in Greece. He operates at the Interbalkan Medical Center of Thessaloniki
