The orthopaedic center ANTONOGIANNAKIS EMMANOUIL - ARTHROSCOPY is located in Marousi.

Antonogiannakis Emmanuel, orthopaedic surgeon in Maroussi, Director of the Center of Shoulder Arthroscopy and Surgery and of the 3d Orthopaedic Clinic of the HYGEIA Hospital, has graduated from the Military Medical School in 1984. He continued his training as a general practitioner at the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens. In 1987 he began his specialization training in orthopaedic surgery, which he completed in 1992, first at the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens, and afterwards, at the K.A.T. Hospital. After having completed his specialization training, he was appointed as registrar at the 2nd Orthopaedic Clinic of the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens, where he continued his training in arthroscopic surgery, principally of the shoulder and knee.

In 1999 he was appointed director, firstly of the 1st and, afterwards, of the 2nd Orthopaedic Clinic of the same Hospital. From 2008 to 2016, he was the director of the 2nd Orthopaedic Clinic of the IASO General Hospital and, today, he is the director of the 3d Orthopaedic Clinic of the HYGEIA Hospital, as well as of the Center of Shoulder Arthroscopy and Surgery.

His main interest is arthroscopic surgery and, in particular, arthroscopic shoulder surgery, to which he has dedicated the major part of his professional practice. Dr. Antonogiannakis is among the first who have applied in Greece, 20 years ago, arthroscopic shoulder surgery and is one of the founding members of the Shoulder Section (ESA) of the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery & Arthroscopy (ESSKA).

He was the president of the Hellenic Association of Arthroscopy, from 2008 to 2010, and he is a member of the Upper Limb Committee of ESSKA, of the Arthroscopic Association of North America, of ISAKOS and other international scientific associations. He has published articles about arthroscopic surgery in Greek and foreign scientific journals and has organized a series of training seminars, having as subject the arthroscopic shoulder surgery, under the auspices of the Hellenic Association of Arthroscopy, ISAKOS and ESSKA.

The Center of Shoulder Arthroscopy and Surgery, of which he is the director, has three main goals: the provision of high scientific level care to patients with problems in the shoulder joint, the increase of our knowledge regarding the function of the shoulder both at normal and pathological level, and the provision of high level training, through the organization of seminars in arthroscopic shoulder surgery, with traineeship and granting of scholarships to young doctors.
