KYRIAZIS DIMITRIOS MD

The anesthesiologist Kyriazis Dimitrios MD with a practice in Gazi, having been born in Heraklion, Crete and after spending his early childhood years in Ierapetra, he grew up and went to school in Athens. But he continued to maintain his family and emotional ties to Crete as he continued to spend his holidays with his family there.

He then studied Medicine at the University of Plovdiv in Bulgaria where he graduated in 2000. He returned to Greece to fulfill his military obligations. Then, after a three-month training at the Agrinio hospital, he worked as a rural doctor at the health center of Amfilochia. After his term ended he continued to work in the same area in the «Help at Home» program where he gained extensive experience managing patients of all ages in their own homes, particularly in chronic care and palliative care.

After attending the anesthesiology training program based at Heraklion University Hospital and after passing the specialty exams, he obtained the title of anesthesiologist.

After successfully completing training in anesthesiology, Dimitrios worked and trained as a Clinical fellow initially at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge and later at Morriston Hospital in Swansea, UK. Following this, he was offered a job as a Consultant Anesthetist at Morriston University Hospital in Swansea, Wales, UK. He remained there for 5 years, conducting research, successfully winning awards and publishing articles in scientific journals. After a successful run in the UK, he decided to return home to Crete and open a pain clinic.

Having received training in regional anesthesia pain management at one of the UK's leading institutions and having been trained in botox applications by the renowned Harley Street Group in London, Dimitrios feels ready to offer the world of Crete the best possible service.

Dimitrios offers the following services:

• Peripheral nerve block for postoperative pain relief and chronic pain relief
• Management of acute and chronic pain
• Acupuncture
• Palliative care
• Sedation for minor surgeries

These services can be provided either at our Gazi-based pain clinic, through a home visit, or under sedation for minor procedures, in your surgeon's office
