LEONIDOU ANDREAS MSc, PhD, FRCS

Mr LEONIDOU ANDREAS MSc, PhD, FRCS (Tr & Orth) is an orthopaedic surgeon, Director of the Clinic of Minimally Invasive Orthopedics at the Medical Center of Athens, Marousi.

Mr. LEONIDOU ANDREAS is specialized in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the upper limbs and knees. He returned to Greece after 14 years of residence in the United Kingdom and having retired from the higher rank of substantive Consultant.

Mr. Leonidou is a specialized surgeon in upper limbs, knees and sports injuries surgery and has completed his entire specialization and over-specialization in his special discipline in England. He worked continuously in the United Kingdom from 2006 to 2019, acquiring a vast surgical experience. He has a detailed - certified logbook of more than 5.000 surgeries.

He graduated from the Medical School of Athens. After his graduation he began working in the United Kingdom, where, under continuous evaluation, regular examinations and interviews, he completed his specialization in Orthopedics and Traumatology. After having completed his specialization training, he was specialized at the world-renowned Shoulder & Elbow Clinic in Reading. He also worked as consultant at the same clinic and subsequently at the University Hospital of East Kent.

He deals with the entire range of traumatology, being specialized in the treatment of compound fractures of the shoulder - elbow. He is specialized in shoulder - elbow and knee arthroscopy with a great surgical experience and a high number of cases. He applies the minimally invasive system of reverse shoulder arthroplasty without a stem.

He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, having successfully passed the respective examinations. He holds a postgraduate degree in Orthopedic Mechanics (Cardiff University) and is Doctor of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is a trainer at the Advanced Trauma Life Support Course and at the world-renowned Reading Shoulder and Elbow Course. He received salaried over-specialization in upper limb surgery at the Upper Limb Clinic of Reading (2017) and a traveling Fellowship in elbow surgery in Antwerp, Belgium (2017).

He often travels to Europe, where he teaches the technique of reverse shoulder arthroplasty without a stem. In the period between 2017-2019 he was the first Greek to be elected a member of the training committee of the British Shoulder & Elbow Society. In 2020 he was also elected at the committee of members of the European Society for Shoulder and Elbow Rehabilitation.

After returning to Greece, his goal is to provide to his patients the most modern diagnosis and treatment techniques, based in international standards.
