The A. A. Dimakopoulos family’s beekeeping tradition began around 1957, in Stemnitsa, Arcadia. The family originates from the village and began keeping bees in the rich bee pastures nearby. Initially, beekeeping was a hobby which originated from the family’s curiosity about the bees’ wonderful society, but later it became a profession. Care and dedication to the art of beekeeping was passed from father to son at an early age, so the whole experience of beekeeping became one of love and attention which evolved into hard, high-quality work.

Today, the family beekeepers use natural-biological methods to produce honey, pollen, royal jelly, propolis, wax and all the natural products that bees produce and which are necessary for humans.

The bees are taken to different regions throughout Greece which means they can collect honey from different honeydew and flowers, creating authentic flavors as well as a natural pharmacy that protects the human body. Bee products promote health and beauty, as they have extremely important healing properties and contribute to longevity.

The space and the idea for the Honey Museum was born from the need to save and preserve the art of beekeeping, and also because there are no similar facilities.
