SIMOPOULOU - FERFELI ELINA MD,PhD neurologist from Terpsithea Larissas, was born in Larissa and in 2004 was admitted, after passing Panhellenic exams, to the Medical School of the University of Thessaly (first preference school).

In 2010, she finished her studies with a grade of 8.96 and was immediately declared a PhD candidate at the University of Thessaly.

She finished her doctoral thesis 'Parkinson's disease and Mediterranean diet: epidemiological and clinical study in the city of Larissa' (Mediterranean diet adherence is related to reduced probability of prodromal Parkinson's disease. Mov Disorder, 2019. 34(1): p.48 -57) and was awarded a Doctor of the University of Thessaly. At the same time, she participated in research programs, publications and speeches in conferences related to interesting neurological cases.

The doctor worked for 4 years in Clinics and Rehabilitation Centers in the Larissa region, gaining experience in the management of chronically ill patients. She worked as a Medical Doctor in Praitori (Elassona) and then to Neo Monastiri and Makrirachi (Domokos).

She taught at the Public IEK of the city of Larissa, gaining teaching experience.She specialized in Neurology at the University Neurological Clinic of Larissa (full 5-year training at PGNLarissa). In the same hospital she practiced in the University Pathology Clinic and the University Psychiatry Clinic. She was fully trained in Clinical Neurophysiology (neurogram, electromyogram, electroencephalogram, visual-auditory-somatosensory evoked potentials). She received certification - training in the injection of botulinum toxin (botox, dysport), under ultrasound guidance from the University Neurological Clinic of the University of Ioannina (Academy of Neuroscience, University of Ioannina).
