SPANOS KONSTANTINOS MD, FACS, FASCRS, MBA

SPANOS KONSTANTINOS MD, FACS, FASCRS, MBA is a general surgeon and operates his medical practice in the center of Thessaloniki. He was born in the USA in 1968 and graduated from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1992.

His training and specialization took place, entirely, in renowned centers of the USA, such as Mayo Clinic, Tufts Medical Center, Boston, and the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. He is professor of surgery at the 1st University Surgery Clinic of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has published scientific works in international journals and has been a guest speaker in North and South America, Europe and Asia.

His history includes some surgeries that have been first performed by him: the first laparoscopic colectomy, adrenalectomy, inguinal hernia, Heller cardiomyotomy and nephrectomy, the first “minimally invasive” parathyroidectomy with iPTH, Longo/PPH and Doppler Guided Hemorrhoid Artery Ligation (at the 1st Surgical Clinic).

He also performed the first Sacral Nerve Neuromodulation for the treatment of urinary incontinence and the first laparoscopic ligation of splenic artery aneurysm in Greece. He holds a diploma of the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
