SYGOUROS ANTONIS DDS MSc

SYGOUROS ANTONIS DDS MSc, is an orthodontist and operates a dental office in Zante. Antonis Sygouros was born in 1985 and grew up in Zakynthos. In 2002 he was admitted to the School of Dentistry of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, from which he graduated in 2008 with a “Very Good” grade.

After serving for one year in the armed forces as a dentist, he was admitted in 2009 to the University of Marmara, Istanbul, in the department of orthodontics, under the direction of Prof. Dr. Nejat Erverdi, president of the European Orthodontic Society (EOS 2011). In the two-year period 2011-2013, he worked at the same time at the private clinic Ortoline, under Prof. Dr. Nazan Kucukkeles, professor of Orthodontics at the University of Marmara, president of the Turkish Orthodontic Society.

In 2013 he prepared his diploma thesis, with the title: “Clinical study of the surgically assisted rapid maxillary expansion and comparison of two techniques using cone beam computed tomography”, which he presented in May 2013 in a speech at the annual conference of the American Association of Orthodontics (AAO) in Philadelphia, USA.

He has published studies in international peer-reviewed journals, such as the French journal L'Orthodontie Française, the Journal of the World Federation of Orthodontists and the renowned American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.

His research interests include rapid maxillary expansion, scientifically substantiated orthodontics, mini-implants and accelerated orthodontic treatment.

In April 2013 he received the title of Master of Science in orthodontics from the University of Marmara and in June 2013 the title of specialist orthodontist from the Greek Ministry of Health, after successfully passing the respective examinations.

He is certified in the use of lingual orthodontic techniques (Harmony, Incognito) and in orthodontic treatment with transparent splints (Invisalign, OrthoCaps, ClearAligner, eCligner).

Since August 2013, he operates a private orthodontics dental office in Zakynthos and is an active member of: the American Association of Orthodontists (ΑΑΟ), the European Orthodontic Society (EOS), the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO), the General Dental Council (GDC) of the United Kingdom, the Greek Orthodontic Society.

Since May 2013, he maintains a research collaboration with the University of Marmara, and he has been a speaker at international conferences of orthodontics and maxillofacial surgery in Greece and abroad.
